Formed in 2015, The Bede Family Foundation was created to inform students about experimental aviation. We also support aviation groups and clubs. We hope to inspire the next generation of aviation’s certified mechanics and aeronautical engineers.
Located in a new facility in Akron, Ohio, the Foundation is well-situated to provide local organizations with the guidance and technical capabilities to support their program needs.
Working with high schools, local flying clubs and EAA chapters the Foundation provides resources to train in project management, aircraft maintenance, aeronautical practices and kit aircraft construction.
Participating organizations are chosen on the basis of mentor support, facility access, organization expertise, dedication and experience. Successful applicants will receive the five construction packages necessary to complete the BD-6, and the follow-up support for aircraft registration and certification, flight testing and general operations.
